Persuasive Writing:Killing Sharks Should Be Banned!

-Which topic did you decide to choose for this essay? - Killing Sharks Should Be Banned -Why did you decide to choose this topic? - I chose this topic because I think that killing sharks is not a proper thing for human beings to do, and I feel strongly about this topic. -What was the most challenging part? Why? - The most challenging part was finding all of the real life facts and fitting the facts into pharragraphs, because you had to find all of the facts and then you had to fit the facts into the pharragraphs and you also had to make the pharragraphs sound good too. -What was the best part? Why? - The best part was editing, adding color, graphics, and changing the font, because it was really easy and it wasn't that hard at all.

Personal Narrative

- what is your personal narrative about?
- why did you choose this topic?
- what is ONE thing you did really well in this piece of writing?
- what are your strengths as a writer?
- what are some areas you would like to improve upon? How?

My personal narrative is about setting up my trampoline with my Dad.
I chose this topic because I thought it was a really fun moment in my life and I had a lot of fun setting the trampoline up with my Dad.
I think did really well on my punctuation.
My strength as a writer is to not quit when I get sucked into my writing.
I would like to improve on my writing by working on a LITTLE SEED writing instead of a GIANT WATERMELON story.

My Reading Goal

- what was your reading goal?
- how did it go?
- how do you know?
- were you successful? Why? Why not?
- what do you think you will work on as your next reading goal?

My reading goal is to use different comprehension strategies.
My reading goal worked out really well.
I know this because on my chart in my reading journal, it showed I did not do the same comprehension strategies very much.
I was successful because I actually thought about what I was using when I read my book.
I think my next reading goal should be working on reading out loud.

Glogster Cultural Influences Poster

For me the Glogster project was fun because I had never made an online poster witch was really fun for me. The parts I liked the most about it were that we got to pick any place that we wanted to pick. The parts that were most challenging were finding the reaserch for stuff like clothing, costoms/belives, and holidays/festivals. Making the Glogster poster helped me learn more about social studies because it helped me learn more about culture, and I even learned what influences means! Making the Glogster poster helped me learn more about technology because I now know that it is more easy to work on the computer. One way this project can be changed so that it is better for classes in the future is
